Tech Memories

Old printer
I was on Facebook and a friend was talking about how technology has advanced. I really sucked at typing in 8th grade:( Our teacher was Ms. Romanofsky. She was hard but she managed to teach me though my thick skull. Typing class in 1976 at Ardmore Jt High Now everybody types. How many know the home row? Remember the way the old FAX paper would curl up?? Remember when restaurants would BRAG that you could FAX your order. That was the email of its day. How about the computer of 1985?? When you deleted a file, you REALLY DELETED a file. I once on a Friday afternoon deleted a donor list that I had worked on for 2 weeks. I was working for the Pa State Democratic Party at the time. I just wanted to cry!! Well, I lost that job 2 week later. I will NEVER forget that, Yup, writing papers in high school was torture. It was easier in grad school in 2003 with a computer and the Internet to fill the mind with research etc. I think I would have gone nuts with correction ribbon and white out. Yup fresh mimeograph paper had a smell that was hard to forget. Remember having to pay $10 bucks a page to get your paper typed?
